§ 38-36. Duties and responsibilities.

  • (a)

    It shall be the responsibility of the Trees, Parks and Recreation Board to study, investigate, and counsel the City concerning street trees, parks, trails, and gardens in the City.

    (b)

    The Trees, Parks and Recreation Board shall also develop or update annually, and administer a written plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal or distribution of trees and shrubs along streets and in other public areas such as parks, trails, gardens, and plantings around City buildings and facilities. Such plan will be presented annually to the City Council, and upon their acceptance and approval shall constitute the annual City tree plan.

    (c)

    The Trees, Parks and Recreation Board, when requested by the City Council, shall consider, investigate, make findings, report and recommend upon any special matter of question coming within the scope of its work.
