§ 2-49. Additional administrative officers.

  • The Mayor and City Council may establish and appoint by resolution one or more administrative officers for purposes of administering and enforcing one or more specific chapters of this Code. Any such administrative officer if appointed shall have the authority and shall exercise the powers of administration and enforcement as assigned or as provided in this Chapter. The City may contract with a private individual or company to provide services as an administrative officer on behalf of the City. If an employee or person or company under contract is appointed to serve as an administrative officer, that employee or person or company under contract shall have administrative authority as may be reasonably implied to be necessary to complete the duties and responsibilities for administration and enforcement so assigned to that employee or person or company under contract. Such administrative officers if appointed shall be considered officers of the City for the purposes of enforcement."
